When I first hopped on this machine, I went back and forth between a traditional elliptical and the Octane just be sure. In the end- the Octane nudged out the traditional elliptical for a few reasons: The variable stride length is a plus. As I move from lower to faster pace, the stride length helps me stay more upright, and use my full leg extension. The upper body workout is comprehensive. I feel it in my arms, shoulders, chest, and upper back. The cardio is excellent. I feel that my time is well spent on this machine I use a circuit approach (treadmill, bike, and the Octane). I'm trying to spare my knees. The Octane provides many options so it never gets boring. The frame is stable, which is very important to me. Lastly, the touchscreen is intuitive. It gives access to a variety of helps and boosts, and makes switching between modes very accessible. Octane built a great unit here. I give it 5 stars.
