Quick, name the first exercise that comes to mind when I say chest training. The majority might say the obvious answer which is the Flat Bench Press. If you want to add a lot of new size and strength to your upper torso, you need to do the decline bench press; it can help you achieve major strength gains and muscle growth in the pecs. The position you are assuming allows you to use more weight and potentially build more size and strength. It’s easier to pile on more weight, because your range of motion is reduced, you are basically bringing the bar down only to your lower chest. Many consider this a limitation, but it really isn’t because it doesn’t diminish the pecs activity, it only decreases other muscles (triceps and delts) activation.
